You will have a 4 year transition period, but we recommend you start making the changes to labelling, SDS, and packaging as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can find out more about the changes below so you can make sure you are up to date with the latest info.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There have been changes to the Hazard Classifications, and you will no longer use the following classes for your hazardous substances:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 1 Explosives<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 2 Flammability gases<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 3 Flammability liquids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 4 Flammability solids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 5 Oxidising<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 6 Toxic<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 8 Corrosive<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Class 9 Ecotoxic<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The new Hazard Classes for hazardous substances will be classed as a physical hazard, a health hazard, or an environmental hazard, detailed below:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Physical hazards<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Explosives<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Flammable gases<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aerosols<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oxidising gases<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gases under pressure<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Flammable liquids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Flammable solids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Self-reactive substances and mixtures<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pyrophoric liquids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pyrophoric solids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Self-heating substances and mixtures<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oxidising liquids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oxidising solids<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Organic peroxides<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Corrosive to metals<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Desensitised explosives<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Health hazards<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Acute toxicity<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Skin corrosion\/irritation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Serious eye damage\/eye irritation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Respiratory or skin sensitisation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Germ cell mutagenicity<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Carcinogenicity<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reproductive toxicity<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Specific target organ \u2013 toxicity single exposure<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Specific target organ toxicity \u2013 repeated exposure<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aspiration hazard<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Environmental hazards<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hazardous to the aquatic environment<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hazardous to the terrestrial environment. (This hazard class is not part of the GHS 7 classification system, but was added to ensure risks to the terrestrial environment continue to be managed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>What this means for you<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will need to ensure that your SDS, packaging, and labelling of substances have been updated to reflect the new classes or you are in the process of updating.
