{"id":523,"date":"2021-05-26T08:59:47","date_gmt":"2021-05-26T08:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hazardco.com\/nz\/?p=523"},"modified":"2024-08-29T01:34:58","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T01:34:58","slug":"notification-of-hazardous-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hazardco.com\/nz\/blog\/notification-of-hazardous-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Notification of hazardous works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Are you aware of when you need to notify WorkSafe NZ of your particular hazardous excavation works?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Conducting any of the following excavation works will mean you\u2019ll need to complete this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.worksafe.govt.nz\/hazardous-work-notification\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WorkSafe NZ online notification form<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work in any drive, excavation, or heading, in which any person is required to work with a ground cover overhead<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work in any excavation in which any face has a vertical height of more than 5 metres and an average slope steeper than a ratio of 1 horizontal to 2 vertical<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work in any pit, shaft, trench, or other excavation in which any person is required to work in a space more than 1.5 metres deep and having a depth greater than the horizontal width at the top<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is expected that at least 24 hours notice is given prior to commencing such excavation works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Notifying WorkSafe of your intended works allows them to gather statistics on the number of high-risk works going on around the country, and plan their use of resources to promote the prevention of harm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make sure you complete a Task Analysis<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0for your high-risk works, you can access Task Analysis Templates from the Templates tab in your Hub.
