HazardCo’s Call Recording Policy
HazardCo receives calls every day into our freephone customer support, sales and advisory lines. Call recording helps us to ensure that our customer service meets expectations and identifies ways we can improve.
Why do we record calls?
We may record calls:
- for staff training purposes;
- to improve the quality of our customer service;
- to ensure the information we provide is consistent and accurate;
- to ensure we have an accurate record of your call, which may be used if there is a need to confirm any matters discussed during the call.
Which calls are recorded:
- We record randomly selected calls made to and from our freephone NZ 0800 and Aus 1800 numbers.
Recording of calls automatically stops when the call is disconnected/ended or the call is transferred to another number.
- We do not record calls made from company mobile phones.
How and how long are the calls stored for?
Calls are recorded using DialPad recording software. The recordings are stored securely for 24 months after the date of the call, following which they are securely destroyed.
What about if I do not want my call recorded?
If you do not want your call recorded, please let the HazardCo staff member know immediately and they can request an authorised administrator to switch off call recording for the duration of your call.
Alternatively, you can contact us via email and we can note on your customer account details that you decline permission for your calls to be recorded.
Who has access to recorded call information?
Call recording information is accessible only by authorised HazardCo personnel and only for the purposes listed above.
Can I request a copy of a recording?
You have the right to request access to and correction of any personal information that we hold about you. If you wish to request a copy of your call recording, you may do so by contacting our Privacy Officer:
