Auckland to remain at Alert level 4 for an additional week

This afternoon, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that Auckland will remain in Alert Level 4 until 11:59pm Tuesday 21st of September. These restrictions will be reviewed by Cabinet on Monday 20th of September, where ideally Auckland will be able to move down to Alert Level 3.

The rest of New Zealand will remain at Alert Level 2 until 11:59pm Tuesday 21st of September, and this will also be reviewed by Cabinet on Monday, 20th of September.

Face Coverings
In general, face coverings should be worn whenever you can. The Delta variant is more contagious, so face coverings are a way we can protect ourselves and each other. You legally must wear a face covering if you are an employee involving customer contact at a business or service. You can find out more info about face covering requirements here.

Vaccinations
A fully vaccinated workforce will help keep your workplace safe from COVID-19. You can refer here for vaccine information for your business

Testing for workers who cross Alert Level boundaries
From 11:59pm on Thursday 16th of September, all workers who need to cross Alert Level boundaries to work at a permitted business must get a COVID-19 test, whether they have symptoms or not, and will be required to show evidence that they have had a test in the previous seven days. Police will begin checking compliance from the 17th of September.

These workers will not be required to stand down or stay at home while awaiting their results, as this additional testing is to provide assurance travel in and out of boundaries is being done safely.
