From midday 12 August, Auckland moved into Alert Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand is moved to Alert Level 2. This is for a period of 3 days so the Government can assess the current situation of community transmission and conduct widespread contact tracing.
The boundary for Alert Level 3 is Auckland’s super city limits. This is from Wellsford in the north to Pukekohe in the south, so if you live or work within this area, this is what you need to know:
What does Alert Level 3 look like?
We’ve been here before, so we know the fundamentals and the restrictions that will be in place across residential construction sites. Here’s a recap of what you need to do:
On construction sites:
- All people must sign in and sign out when they arrive and leave site
- Maintain physical distance guidelines
- Wear a facemask or face covering such as a bandana – these are strongly recommended at all times you are outside your home
- Limit interaction between groups of workers, for example stagger meal breaks
- Avoid sharing items and disinfect surfaces between use including tools and machinery
- Ensure everyone continues maintaining high hygiene standards including thoroughly washing hands
If you’re entering a home or other workplace:
- Keep a two metre distance from the occupants
- Keep a record of where you have been and who you have been in contact with
- Avoid sharing items and disinfect surfaces including PPE, tools and machinery
- Continue to maintain high hygiene standards including thoroughly washing your hands
