Your plan should clearly show:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>The plan:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Clear procedures for fires, medical emergencies, severe weather events, and other site-specific hazards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>The go-to people:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Designated assembly points, wardens,\u00a0 first aiders, and emergency contact numbers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Who\u2019s who:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Up-to-date contact details for workers, staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Plan B:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> What to do if you\u2019re completely locked out of your site or office.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>How to build it\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When you&#8217;re putting your plan together, you don&#8217;t need to overthink it. Just look at the facts of your specific setup:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How big is your workplace and where is it located?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How many workers are on-site on any given day?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What kind of gear are you using, and what are the actual hazards?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How will emergency services access the site if they are needed?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What are the most likely emergency scenarios you could face right there?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Emergency procedures should be communicated to all workers, subcontractors, and visitors so they understand the actions to take and where to go if an emergency occurs.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Test it and keep it fresh<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A plan is only useful if it actually works. You should review and update yours whenever things change, like if you start a new type of work, move sites, welcome new crew members, or spot new risks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Put it to the test:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Testing doesn\u2019t need to be a massive mission. Pick a scenario (like a fire), run a quick mock drill, and see how everyone goes.
